JUDGE COOK'S JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
SPEEDY TRIALS
Judge Cook has eliminated his court's trial backlog, and has one of the shortest wait periods in the county for defendants seeking their Constitutionally guaranteed right to a jury trial.
PROTECTION OF THE COMMUNITY
Judge Cook has fought to insure that defendant violations of bond conditions are presented to Tarrant County judges earlier and more often in order to combat lawlessness in our communities.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Personal responsibility is a recurring theme in Judge Cook's courtroom. Once proven, defendant's who break the law or orders of the court are held to account for their bad acts.
EFFICIENCY
After 20 years in a private legal practice, Judge Cook understands the importance of efficient government. His court is recognized by lawyers throughout Tarrant County for its competent management.
REDIRECTION OF YOUTHFUL OFFENDERS
Many of the defendants appearing before Judge Cook are first time, young offenders. By requiring High School degrees or GEDs for all young probationers in his court, Judge Cook is actively working to get these youths out of the business of criminal activity.
STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE LAW AND CONSTITUTION
As a lifelong conservative Republican, Judge Cook believes judges should follow the law, rather than create it. He believes our rights, recognized by the Constitution, are sacred and fights to protect them every day.
